Forging a better corporate culture at Sustainability for Breakfast

November 21, 2017

On December 5, Shane Wallace of CultureSmith Inc. will have everyone “peeking into unfamiliar corners of their brain” as the keynote at Sustainability for Breakfast presents Forging Business Culture.

“We will make them fully conscious of any stress, pain or aggravation their business is causing them through a vastly different light. To meet their internal saboteur, learn how to deal with them, and fall in love with your business again.”

Shane believes that company culture “isn’t something that just happens, it’s something that has to be smithed – heated up and pounded on with a hammer.”

CultureSmith teaches businesses how to forge engagement with employees and clients through a three-step process:

Intake – Building a culture based on a company’s values, and examining its competence based on the value proposition, how well do your present and future employees fit in?
Interaction – Examining personalities, emotional and behavioural triggers in the workplace, and how they impact the success of the company and individual.
Investment – Measuring performance and potential to help determine whether a relationship (employees or clients) are worth investing into.

Shane founded CultureSmith two years ago as the result of a snowball of events. Shane had worked in the recruiting industry for well over a decade, both with other major companies and his own firm, until the economic downturn nearly decimated the industry.

“My firm was okay, but the companies that called us to hire people were really hurting,” Shane recalls.

When speaking to these business owners, Shane noticed they were facing similar issues with disengagement that he, too, experienced at work. “I became a junky for anything related to psychology, executive leadership, and lean business principles and cobbled together this Frankenstein’s Monster of an engagement system for ourselves.”

This engagement system became the basis of CultureSmith six months later, and Shane has plans for “scaling as rapidly as we can” in the new year.

“The opposites of ‘hard’ are ‘easy’ and ‘simple.’ What we are doing is incredibly simple. But it is not easy. It’s one of those things that takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master.”

Sustainability for Breakfast presents "Forging Business Culture"

Connectivity, job automation and the intensifying search for more meaningful consumerism are driving the emergence of what Trendwatching calls “glass box brands”. Any of you who are on social media will understand what this means – there is no longer a dividing line between internal and external communications when it comes to your brand. What your employees experience, your customer also experiences, immediately, through social media, so it’s more important than ever to actively create your culture.

Employee Engagement has fast become the most pivotal business issue of our time. With over 3/4 of employees operating at various levels of disengagement nationally, there will be two types of leaders in the coming decade; those who learn how to engage their employees and those whose businesses will simply fail.

Shane Wallace, CEO of Culturesmith Inc., will share how to intentionally forge a business culture that will attract and keep customers and employees who share your values, so that you can grow your business.

About Shane Wallace:

Shane works with Entrepreneurs and C-suite Executives of rapidly scaling enterprises to craft the type bulletproof Corporate Cultures needed to inspire their people to bring forth more discretionary effort daily.

As a Speaker he is driven to educate Leaders as to the size and scope of the Engagement Epidemic, and inspire them to take action by providing real, tangible strategies that they can implement with minimal cost and effort.

As a Thought Leader, his aim is to add shape to the concepts of Culture and Engagement, to pull them from the ether and provide a set of tools you can use to create meaningful, rewarding and sustainable businesses.
