For owner Annie Cole, the concept for Muttley Crue grew out of a desire to provide Calgary dog owners with a green, pet care alternative – one of only a few in North America. As a huge supporter of using organic products and eco-friendly alternatives in her every day life, it seemed only reasonable that the same care should be provided to her dogs and those of Muttley Crue's customers.

Everything Annie uses at Muttley Crue is environmentally sustainable, local, or organic. From the shampoos to the cleaners, and the food to the poop bags. Muttley Crue is also the first dog salon in Calgary to compost dog hair, in a unique partnership with Urban Impact.

Annie's suppliers include All Things Jill (shampoo), and Small Planet (organic cleaner) from Calgary. who manufacture cleaners with 100 per cent organic, fair trade and chemical-free products in glass bottles that when returned are washed, sterilized and reused, and Alqowasi, which manufactures the best fair-trade alpaca dog jackets while supporting women’s initiatives in Peru.
