Calgary Reads in a non-profit organization that acts as a bridge between home and school, working to create communities where reading matters. Calgary Reads is committed to working with parents, educators, corporate partners and the community at large to foster a joyful relationship with reading in all children in Calgary and beyond.
Calgary Reads provides free literacy-building and reading resources including games and books. Literacy is linked to a range of personal, social and financial benefits, from positive self-esteem to ongoing employment, good health, community engagement, reduced crime rates and even a stronger national economy.
Calgary Reads is committed to supporting their local community, through local purchasing. They also donate thousands of books annually to partner organizations in Calgary.
