COVID-19 UPDATE: Two Wheel View's social enterprise shop is currently only open by appointment on Tuesdays and Fridays for bike sales and donating bikes and parts. Everyone is encouraged to visit for up-to-date details and COVID protocols.

Two Wheel View is a values-focussed organization that serves youth in the Calgary area and surrounding communities. Two Wheel View programs increase youth resiliency and lessen risk factors of students through cognitive development, meaningful opportunities, social competence, and emotional and physical wellbeing; thus increasing their likelihood of future success. Best practices in youth development are used to inform program curriculum and shape the way Two Wheel View forms relationships with the youth, partners and community.

The Two Wheel View Social Enterprise Bike Shop has been in operation since 2017 and is the only bike shop of its kind in the city. It contributes to the organization’s fundraising efforts, allowing for diversification of funding and increase organizational sustainability. This shop not only supports the mission economically but helps collects bikes for Earn-a-Bike and other programs, gets more Calgarians out on the pathways, engages volunteers, introduces a whole new audience to Two Wheel View and has kept over a thousand bikes from the landfill in 2019.

2019 was the first year that graduates of the Beltline Bike Club and GAP programs became employed as facilitators while also supporting the organization by working in the bike shop. Looking forward, the goal is that there will more opportunities will be available for the youth from the programs to gain meaningful employment with Two Wheel View to learn skills in customer service, bike mechanics and running a small business.
