A puppet rises from a fabric heap on stage, animated by a power beyond itself, and it wonders—who is pulling my strings? What happens if I cut them? Am I my own puppet?

As a metaphor for human experience the puppet provides a fun yet impactful way of exploring life’s big questions. Puppet Power 2020 will present puppeteers whose work relates to the existential considerations of our time: Climate Action, Artificial Intelligence, Culture & Identity, Hope & Human Agency.

The Puppet Power conference helps people discover a new way to impact change in the world by using puppetry. The conference presents key learnings and tools vital to professionals in education and healthcare, therapists, librarians, and visual and performing artists. Sparking the imagination, the conference is for anyone inspired to express themselves creatively, develop personal and professional skills and promote positive social change.

Early Bird Conference Passes are now available. The passes are only available until World Puppetry Day on March 21st, 2020. Purchase here and save $70 before it’s too late! Tickets to individual events will be sold separately after March 21st, 2020. Individual tickets are $35-$65 each.

We are working on our presenter selection and schedule but as with all of our past Puppet Power conferences, it will be fun, galvanizing and inspiring. We have partnered with CAOS and Xstine Cook, for the annual Dolly Wiggler Cabaret. If you are a puppeteer or speaker coming to Puppet Power 2020 you have the opportunity to perform at The Dolly Wiggler. Email Xtine Cook for more information about being part of this raucous night of puppetry.
