Sounds of Summer: Fiasco Gelato celebrates 10 years with all-ages bash
Fiasco Gelato launches new festival
It’s always been James Boettcher’s dream to host a music festival. On June 15, his dream comes true with Sounds of Summer: an all-ages music and food festival marking the 10-year anniversary of James becoming CEO of Fiasco Gelato.
“We are so excited for this,” James says in a recent press release, “what better way to celebrate 10 years than to host an epic festival, giving back to the community that has helped get us to where we are today.”
Sounds of Summer will take place outside of Fiasco Gelato’s café in Mayland Heights and will feature a rotating cast of local musical talent to be enjoyed alongside food and drink served by local vendors, and of course the artisan gelato that has swept the nation this past decade.
Many of the businesses featured at the festival are longtime partners and friends of Fiasco Gelato, and which share the company’s values for “doing good in their hood,” supporting local, ethical sourcing, and doing business differently.
“We want to use Sounds of Summer to push the envelope on what makes Calgary great, beyond oil and gas and looking towards the future,” explains Jennifer Taylor, Field Marketing Lead at Fiasco Gelato.
“So much has changed in the past 10 years – for Fiasco and for Calgary itself,” she says. “We are excited to celebrate the journey.”
