WinDecor Window Coverings raises curtains to a sustainable future
Giving old window coverings new purpose
Thirteen years ago, Rahul Mehrota’s passion for fine details and home décor inspired him to open his own business: WinDecor Window Coverings, while also giving back to the community.
Rahul works closely with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, donating old window coverings to its housing projects and regularly taking staff on volunteer days to build homes with them. “If you can help the community to get out of the vicious cycle [of poverty] even one person, one home at a time – that itself will make a difference.”
WinDecor Window Coverings takes a consultant’s approach, opting to work with a variety of brands that are all rigorously examined for the company’s values, transparency, environmental impact, eco certifications, and materials of their products. Rahul felt it was important to listen to his customers needs first, rather than make decisions for them.
Rahul hopes that WinDecor Window Coverings will be known for its philosophy, and as a sustainable leader in the industry as he continues to grow and evolve the business.
“Even 13 years on, trying to solve the puzzle of entrepreneurship day in day out is by far my favourite part of work I do,” he says.
“I want to contribute to a better future.”
